Splish Splash

Emperor Nero’s gigantic bathtub made of royal porphyry, which the Romans just loved and loved (see above). Nero would fill this bathtub up with warm goat’s milk and bathe in it. I have no idea why, but I do know that Nero is often regarded as one of the worst/craziest Roman Emperors ever (which is a remarkable distinction considering how bad/crazy some of them were). Today the tub is worth in the range of 350 million euros (damn!). This whole room is a recreation of the Roman Pantheon and I believe that many of the works in there were taken from the Pantheon at some point.
